Fall 2012 Trend Report: Baroque Style

Baroque Style by fashionartbox featuring clutch handbags
Though it may still feel like summer,
fashion is always one step ahead of the season, bringing in the latest trend
for fall. Dolce and Gabbana sets the tone for a collection of elaborate gilded prints
while Aquilano e Rimondi and
Lanvin incorporates gothic elements to their ensembles. However, these fashion
powerhouses have one thing in common—drama. These lavish adornments,
appliqués and decadent fabrics embody the grandeur and richness of Baroque
style. Though it may seem intimidating to sport this trend, a brocade dress or
an embellished blazer will still be a showstopper. Choose structured
silhouettes, those that flatter your body whether you have a curvy or boyish
figure, to complement the elaborate prints. However, you should also remember
that the lavishness of the Baroque era was about expressing control and power. As
such, do not be afraid to make a statement. Keep everything else simple from
your hair to your shoes, and you have created your own masterpiece just as good
as Ruben or Velasquez's paintings.
