Reminiscing the Street

I don't remember 21 Jump Street being funny, not at all! The 80's series had some small moments of laughter but not that much. I recently watched the first few episodes in You Tube and it did bring some memories of how cool trench coats were and how being an undercover cop could be the best job ever.  Though the setting was in the States, the whole series was shot in Vancouver.

The 2012 movie version was not close to this. It was funny, cute, and it was more of American Pie meets Bad Boys 2 meets Diary of a Wimpy Kid 1 & 2. I'm kind of glad that I agreed to buy the pirated DVD version as it would have been disappointing to watch this in the theatre. I'm being a bit biased because I was expecting it to be similar to the old ones. The movie was okay but I hoped they just didn't use the title and connected it to the one from TV.

Those born on 1977 and below who grew up watching the original ones, beware, I advise you to keep the memory of the past rather than replace them with this... Spoiler: cameo appearances made it more frustrating.

Fashion Comment: Johnny Depp and Company were able to bring justice to the 80's look, can't say the same for Channing Tatum and the rest of the cast.
